San Javier is a small town and municipality in the autonomous reign and the province of Murcia in south-eastern Spain. The municipality is located on the northern end of Murcia's Mediterranean coast, Costa Cálida. It is best known for its international airport, Murcia-San Javier Airport (MJV), which is the largest in the Murcia region.

San Javier began his story after the period of Berber invasions in the area. It arose around the church that was built in the early 18th century and dedicated to the Apostle San Francisco Javier.

The area, dedicated to agriculture and the sea, has the beautiful coastal towns of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor. Santiago de la Ribera was founded in 1888 by the construction of the church dedicated to the Apostle St. James. Here you will find the beautiful beach promenade and the town center itself which still has the taste of a small fishing village. La Manga, which mainly belongs to the San Javier municipality, offers the opportunity to choose between two seas, both with their characteristics. The whole area has good conditions for a great variety of water sports and the wide range of leisure and lodging options made it a fantastic tourist resort.

San Javier city currently has more than 30,000 inhabitants. 

The nearest airports are in Murcia, Región de Murcia International Airport, 27 minutes, and El Altet (Alicante) 57 minutes, both by air to national and international territories respectively.
