It is not a “resort” in the true sense of the word and does not cater for the package holiday industry – those activities take place much further to the north. The shops, bars and restaurants of the town are open all year round, to cater for a population which is either resident in the area, or enjoying a stay in a holiday home owned by themselves or relatives.
