El Campello

El Campello is a beautiful small beach resort with long stretches of sandy beaches just 14 km north of Alicante. There is a long promenade on the beachside where you can have a meal or a cool drink in the many restaurants and bars or just enjoy the views of the beaches. Campello also has a pretty harbour and fish market where the fish is auctioned and sold everyday. The Queen´s Bathing Pools (La Illeta Dels Banyets) is a very important archaeological site in Campello which is over 5000 years old. The small thermal baths date from the Roman era and are believed to have been the bathing pools of a Moorish queen. There are also many little coves for swimming, snorkelling or sunbathing. Waters are shallow, clear and full of fauna and flora.
