ALTEA is by far one of the most beautiful small towns on the Costa Blanca. Altea has both a new and an old town, like many other Spanish small towns. Here in Altea lies the new district down the coastline where you will find a small city centre and a long, beautiful seafront promenade. There are restaurants and cafes offering both good tapas and other international dishes. The older district clings over the entire back of the hill above. At the highest point in the old town lies the church, La Mare de Deu del Consol, with its incredibly beautiful blue dome. From here you have a wide angle view of large parts of the Costa Blanca coast. From the church, narrow, cobbled streets run crosswise and across the hill surrounded by small whitewashed houses. Many of them have been transformed into galleries, art workshops, and gourmet restaurants.
