Description
JAVEA is located north of the Costa Blanca, just between Alicante and Valencia. A relatively small and cozy coastal town with beautiful surroundings, including the La Granadella beach which is one of several pride sites. Javea is really divided into three, the old town, the harbor and the Arenal beach, something for all tastes in other words. The town is sheltered by the great Montgo mountain, which is a real landmark and surrounded by a nature park. Javea's location, situated on a peninsula with sun from early in the morning till late in the evening. In the harbor there is a lot of activity, fishing boats come and go and the fishermen are more than willing to chat. Here is also the fish auction, where most of the gastronomic delights are sold at prices that make a palate vibrate. The old town of Javea has retained its Spanish character with its narrow streets, arched entrances, whitewashed houses, wrought iron balconies and a Gothic style on most of the buildings. Remains of the city wall are still available and there is an association between the old town and the harbor.
