​Torre de la Horadada

TORRE DE LA HORADADA is a beach town on the Mediterranean Sea, located in the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada. 

It is located in the region of Alicante right next to the border with its Southern neighbour Murcia, the second-largest city, and is just a 30-minute drive from the new Region of Murcia International airport, 15 minutes from Torrevieja, the historic Roman port of Cartagena is only 25 minutes South of Torre De La Horadada and is around 50 minutes from Alicante/with Alicante airport within 40 minutes drive. 

The name Torre de la Horadada (Torre = tower) comes from the characteristic fortress of 1591, located in the centre of town, close to the harbour. The city is very popular In the summer months and is famous for its small and cosy beaches, as well as the large and incredibly beautiful beach of Playa de las Higuericas. In addition to all the restaurants on the square, you will also find a brand new centre with shops and many dining venues just meters away. The area also has a full-year grocery store. In the whole of Horadada, you have many walking possibilities both on foot and by bike if you wish. There are also many beautiful parks and green zones in the area that you can enjoy all year long.

The more lively resorts of the Orihuela Costa (Campoamor, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca, and Punta Prima) are only a short distance away to the North, and the more traditional Spanish Mar Menor resorts of Lo Pagan, Santiago De La Ribera, and Los Alcazares are all within 10 minutes drive to the South.

However, with the new development booming in this area, the Townhall is investing resources in the area - there are more green areas, parks for the children, more shops, restaurants and coffee places, a town beach, etc.  

For sports lovers, and active people

- it is an ideal place and offers a variety of sports activities for all ages - from water sports - swimming, paddle surfing, surfing, kayaking, and snorkelling... but also tennis, beach volleyball, running, hiking, cycling, or the very popular golf - is a premier golf destination with a number of quality golf courses spread throughout the province including Las Colinas, Villamartin, Campoamor, La Finca, and Lo Romero are within a 20-25 minute drive.

La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre in Orihuela Costa, you will find an open space with trendy shops and restaurants and the best services.

Medical facilities

Spain's health care system is the seventh best in the world, according to the World Health Organization. You can usually communicate in English at the hospital.

Safety

According to the OCDE statistics, Spain has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Costa Blanca particularly is quite idyllic, and a very safe destination for tourists and business people alike. You will rarely find any serious crimes committed here.
